Game with a Twist

After missing out twice for the kick-off, the media team made an early appearance at the Cage, armed with two whistles and a CD, courtesy from Sailor Girl. But as the seconds ticked away, only seven turned up in what is to be the lowest turn-out ever at The Cage.

Driven to desperation, Wenchong got three foreigners over and the usual game took twist. It’s now Ang Mohs versus our boys in The Cage. Just before KO, Patrick announced his arrival by requesting for an interview from the media. But when queried about his punctuality, he said, “Good question, I’ll answer you after my game.”

Against opponents of bigger built, our boys displayed more delicate touches and stick their game plan to the ground. Precise passing, sharp shooting ruled their game. The “boing” sound of the ball being kicked was rarely heard. Suddenly, U.N.C.L.E. shouted, “Junior! Junior! Boh music?” (Meaning “no music”). Junior ran to the “referee” with the CD. But it turned out that the player can’t play this particular CD. Nonetheless, music came on, and a new member of the team put a diving header pass the Ang Moh keeper!

Not long after, the Media discovered a viewing gallery at second floor. It was from the viewing gallery that Junior had to remind U.N.C.L.E. to come out of his corner. This is the best viewing place for those who watch football. The formation can be seen clearly. Though, we can't really talk much about formaiton in The Cage.

While Chin was keeping goal at our end, Junior shoted for him to pose for photo0taking. The opposite team did not utilise the chance to score. Alas! Man! They can be as vain as some women. Speaking of appearances, Junior's conclusion about Ang Mohs becoming bald - they do too much headers!

Soon, the Ang Mohs surrendered, and the boys reverted to five against five, with fifteen minutes remaining. With the 80s music ringing in the background, Chin scored a splendid goal in the dying minutes of the game. At the other end, Patrick conjured out a pin-blank save against Wenchong! Rongming skills outshone the rest on this outing. Youth maybe? Daniel made his returned to the pitch after his reservist, only to be made fun off for his “reflective” body after the game. Sorry people, no photo of that! Perhaps next time?!

Had to deliver episode 10 of Showdown for Alvin, so Showdown Delivery Service made a trip to Grande Vista during the boys' almost weekly game there. Turned out to be the opening ceremony of my new toy. "Ronaldino" was there to play. But he was wearing the wrong jersey. For the record, he said he hasn't put on "the BIGGER" one when we were talking about his hairband. At one point, when he was standing behind the goalpost, there was lacking a player in the arena. Bidding Farewell...

… to 2007, so I thought why not have a game at JBS when Cynthia suggested that Ross played with the Stunners for the last time this year, against the Media I contacted Ben and the stage was set for 28 Nov. But it wasn’t as smooth as it turned out to be. Ben, the team manger for the FAS Stunners called and asked if the match can be postpone to January as they could not get enough people. With the Boys all revved up and ready to go, Ben promised he will try and gather his troops. Raphael and I came out with a list of 20 people from the start. The list quickly became 16 and on the day itself, we only had 14 and only 12 turned up. At about 2pm in the afternoon, Mark sms me saying that match will be cancel as the weather is not looking good. Even Ross called me and said heaven is not on our side. I remained positive and said the rain, has got 2hr and 30min to rain and then it will stop and we can KO. The most colourful colour commentator

After a LONG drive to Deptford field, we arrived to see players donning red tops already doing their warm-ups on the pitch. What caught me unaware was that I was to become blood donors to the food depleted mosquitoes there. The heavy downpour prior to KO did nothing to dampen Peter’s mood. He even brought along the “chest” of tops we bought in Korat. Those who turned up without red tops were handed one each, and our regulars took theirs at long last.
