Ahmad injured again

Arrived at Grande Vista way after the boys started playing. Kelvin and Arsenal were the first two boys I saw. They appeared to be taking a dump by the "arena". Steven was already resting in the shelter. He said I arrived after he scored two goals! Aiyoh! So arrogant!!

Saw a distinct White Team and Red Team. Alvin's top looked kind of familiar.Oh! He was saying that he would make his appearance in new shoes!! He claimed he boought them at $10. Not before long, there was a casualty. It was Ahmad. Our dear friend, injured his toe two weeks ago. This time, it's two other toes! Simon bought ice for Ahmad's injury. Eh...why don't you be medic the next time? Then they won't always ask me for massage. Deal or no deal?

Kiok made a special appearance. It wasn't until when we were on our way home that she realised Ah Gong has moved here! GOD! Gurmit made his appearance before we left. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fuying_sr/

Mud Bath

With the rain coming down on us everyday, the pitch was muddy beyond words. The goalkeeper’s area at the far end had a puddle of water. As the players strolled in, many began to shake their heads. How to play on this pitch? Despite the poor confirmed attendance of the players, things started to look up as Alan Tern arrived, and Bryan Wong’s appearance. Father Patrick brought his friend to cover for him as he was suffering from back injury. Steven Ong, suffering from flu, brought his whole family to lend support. The turnout at Raphael’s side was surprisingly good too! After his tongue lashing I assumed. Alan Tern turned up with bright NEW yellow boots! Wenchong was the BEST! From his bag, out came his RED jersey, RED boots and RED socks! You playing for us or Raphael’s team? In the end, he had to borrow someone’s white top! Chin brought his new pair of WHITE boots. In the end, he chose to put on his old pair of boots, though they weren’t exactly fitting. Chris Ang and Simon turned up w...

Threatened…

I have been seriously contemplating about “resigning” as the official media for about two weeks. Call it a writer’s block or a summer’s break. It has been getting tougher and tougher to find new angles to this weekly blogging of the Cage. Thinking out loud was a wrong move as this was met by serious objection. I was even threatened by a gangster, who wore blue boots with studs in the Cage. He was the only one wearing the boots. So people, keep a look out for this grey hair uncle. Huiting had to accompany me to the Cage for fear of the grey hair uncle. Before KO, Chin was walking with a limp. His injury was caused by Alvin last week. Like Peter, he carried on playing. It’s something about men and football, something I can never understand. Just like why people fail to comprehend why I loved this beautiful game so much. Remesh once asked me some years back before his KO at Changi. “This kind of game also you want to watch?” I guessed a smile was the best reply then, and now. Playing with...

U.N.C.L.E.’s heroics?

Chin has gotten a new ball for The Cage in the New Year, and Alvin has been telling me how he has scored five, six goals with the new ball. He was so looking forward to this outing that he wore his soccer socks the whole day and even showed them to me during this morning’s meeting. It was bright yellow, and Glyn bought them for him. As he was rushing to The Cage, he had to change while driving, and according to him, at the traffic lights. I don't want to know the details. Woof! Another player who has been looking forward to this game was Raphael. He saw U.N.C.L.E. warming up as he drove past and was quick to join U.N.C.L.E. While U.N.C.L.E. was the first player to reach, Raphael displayed his yearning to play explicitly, going for the same ball with Daniel that resulted in him slipping. Sigh… cannot wait huh? To challenge for the Most On player award for the night, Alvin revealed that he was changing as he drove to The Cage. Aiyoh, I think both of you can share tonight’s award for ...
