Rain or Shine, the Show MUST go on!

It has been raining cats and dogs (woof) the whole day. Joan Road was closed, and there was only one entrance/exit from Caldecott Hill. The haze didn't stop the boys from The Cage, neither did the floods.

Braving the rain AND the floods, the boys arrived punctually at The Cage. I was debating if I should make the trip, and I’m glad that I did. Despite having post-Doha Syndrome, dealing with the jet lag and flu-like symptoms. For I have heard stories about Hady making a special appearance and Melvin entering The Cage. Yet, both were not there. Instead there was this Chris guy who keeps running out of position.

They waited for the blue ball to KO officially. It was with Raphael, and we were running late due to traffic.

Five minutes into the game, Raphael's shot collided with U.N.C.L.E's face and he dropped onto the pitch. It was the longest time I have known in which he was "out". Did he suffer a concussion? It wasn’t till post-match that I realised he has always been a target for these shots. Last week was Wenchong who hit his back. The previous time that he fell on the pitch, was a shot from Chin.

It was the first time I see him playing in between the sticks. According to Wenchong, he's not a bad keeper. Well, as human target, maybe.

Just before the half-hour mark, Alvin lobbed a header past U.N.C.L.E. Bullying the "newbie", "veterans" started taking the ball down to the byline, luring the keeper out before passing the ball over for teammates to score. Chris put his name into the scoresheet in front of a gapping goal, and so did Alvin.

Chin bagged an own-goal - letting the ball off his grasp, with two minutes remaining. Though he insisted the ball didn't cross the line. U.N.C.L.E. was caught twice, catching the ball with his hand outside the keeper's area. Post match, he insisted Alvin tried the Hand of God.

Simon commented about Junior's magnificent performance on the pitch. But she didn't turn up. He was surprise by her skills. On the other table, Chin was busy collecting money. I think he needs a bookkeeper or bookie?

There were plenty of comments about Rongming's dribbling. Being the youngest in the squad, it takes a lot for others to keep up and wait for his passes. But he, being the Manu fan, enjoys being Cristiano Ronaldo. In the end, Wenchong, U.N.C.L.E and Alvin had to convince him to play three touches football next week. No name on the back of your shirt is bigger than the name on the crest in front of your shirt.
